As storytellers of love and the moments that make it unforgettable, nothing makes us happier than seeing a piece we've created become part of a couple's story. Some love stories begin in adulthood, and some begin in the school years. Julie and Kelvin's began at 13, and it has been a long time coming.
Their proposal took place on a glacier in New Zealand, after a surprise trip that Kelvin planned almost entirely himself. We're delighted to share their beautiful engagement story, along with how Julie's ring turned out completely different from what she first imagined. It was a joy to be part of it, and we're so happy for you both.
TELL US ABOUT YOUR ROMANTIC PROPOSAL THAT KELVIN SO THOUGHTFULLY PLANNED
Kelvin surprised me with a last-minute trip to Queenstown, New Zealand. If you know me, you'll know how stressful that was for my Type A personality! He ended up planning almost the entire trip, and I couldn't have asked for anything more perfect. While we were there, we took a helicopter tour and landed on a glacier, and that's where he proposed. Between the views, the moment itself and the ring, it couldn't have been more perfect if I had imagined it myself.

YOU'VE BEEN TOGETHER SINCE YOU WERE 13. WHAT DOES THIS NEXT STEP MEAN TO YOU BOTH?
This has been a long time coming! We've literally grown up together, and now we get to grow old together, which makes the engagement feel even more special.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR RING AND YOUR EXPERIENCE WITH THE CLASSIC JEWELLERS.
Funnily enough, the ring I ended up with was completely different from what I had originally imagined. Before visiting The Classic Jewellers and meeting Jess, I always thought I would want a round cut diamond with a white gold pavé band. After trying on different styles and working with Jess, we chose an oval cut diamond with a solitaire setting, and it suited me best. I'm now completely obsessed with my ring and so glad we went with this design. I've received so many compliments on it, and I especially love the hidden halo detail. It feels timeless and classic, while still having those little details that make it feel so special to me.
