Yet, every so often, a couple crosses our path whose love radiates a unique magic, leaving an indelible mark on everyone they meet. It was an absolute honor to celebrate the engagement of John and Hien, and now, we’re thrilled to share the spellbinding story of their love and proposal:
How did the two of you first meet? Were there any special moments in your relationship that made you realize they were 'the one'? We'd love to hear your side of the story from both of you!
John: Hien and I met during university but got closer during intern year. As we crammed through late-night study sessions, fuelled by many (and many more) bubble tea breaks, our connection grew stronger.
John: I knew Hien was the one when I saw her amazing smile, heart of gold and infectious laugh (especially at my cheesy dad jokes). She’s always there for everyone with her selfless nature. Every moment with her feels like home - warm and comforting.
Hien: I knew John was the one when I saw how supportive and loving he is towards me and our families. He goes out of his way to make me smile and feel comfortable, doing everything possible to show his care. John is truly my number one fan!
What qualities do you admire most in each other?
John: Hien is my everything - kind, intelligent, beautiful, supportive, encouraging and always there for me. I'm so appreciative of her love, partnership and friendship.
Hien: John is a very patient and optimistic person. He always finds and shows me the positives in every difficult situation. I'm deeply appreciative of his love and care for me every day.
We’ve heard the story in-store, but we'd love to hear again about the surprise proposal John planned so thoughtfully in front of Mt Fuji!
We'd been traveling Japan for days and I’d been stressing about the weather since the clouds had been hiding Mount Fuji from us. But on this special day, the clouds parted to reveal the mountain's surreal view. It was definitely worth the early wake up. Hiding the engagement ring had been a whole other adventure (let’s just say it was a close call a few times). The rest of our stay was a happy blur - stunning views, quality time and making unforgettable memories together.
