As admirers of love’s quiet magic, we’ve witnessed many stories that remind us how connection can blossom in the most unexpected places. From an online introduction to a bond grounded in patience, laughter, and mutual care, Garry and Gabby’s journey is a testament to love growing stronger with time.
It was a privilege to work alongside Garry in creating Gabby’s dream engagement ring, a symbol of devotion and shared values. Now, we’re delighted to share their story:
How did you and Gabby meet? What defining moments made you realise they were ‘the one’?
Garry: Gabby and I met online on Tinder. Our first date was at the Hibernia Café in Magill. For me, it wasn’t a single moment but rather a series of moments. The more time I spent getting to know Gabby, the more I realised how much I admired her and how we shared a similar outlook on life.
Gabby: We met on Tinder six years ago, and our first date was at the Hibernia Café in Magill! That’s a really hard question! I don’t think I can name any individual moments… Garry has always shown up and been consistent and committed in his care, consideration, and kindness toward me and others. That really helped my love grow for him, especially in the early days.
What do you most admire and appreciate in each other?
Garry: I admire Gabby’s thoughtfulness and caring nature. She has always been there for me through the ups and downs of life. I also appreciate Gabby’s shared values and outlook on life.
Gabby: I admire Garry’s patience. I struggle to be patient, so it’s something I really admire and appreciate in him. I also appreciate Garry’s kindness toward me beyond words.
We’ve heard a little in-store, but please tell us again about the romantic proposal Garry planned!
We went to the zoo, and afterwards he took me to the lake in Rymill Park. We walked into the middle, and when I turned around, he was down on one knee. Many years earlier, we had been sitting at a park bench in Rymill Park when I mentioned that the lake would be a beautiful spot for a proposal and he remembered.
We loved working with Garry to design Gabby's ring – tell us about your experience with The Classic Jewellers and any advice you'd give to other couples choosing their ring.
Garry: The team at The Classic Jewellers were great to work with. I organised with Gabby to go ring shopping together to decide on a design and ensure I got an engagement ring she would love. They took the time to explore designs and sizes with us, creating a wonderful ring.
Gabby: The team was very attentive and they helped us think about things we otherwise wouldn’t have. They let me try many sizes and styles, and their communication is great.
What are you most excited for as you step into this new chapter together?
Garry: I’m looking forward to our upcoming wedding and our continued journey with Gabby by my side.
Gabby: Looking forward to the wedding day which should be great fun! But really just looking forward to continuing our lives together as a team, you never know what life will bring so I’m just glad to have Garry by my side.
