Here, we share their heartwarming story and the unforgettable proposal that marked the beginning of their forever.
How did you both meet, what defining moments in your relationship made you realize that they were the one? We would love to hear both sides of the story!
It started as a typical modern love story – Tinder.
Just two weeks after returning to Australia after two years in Canada, I had spent a weekend visiting my sister. While filling in time, trying to cure the boredom of a five hour road trip, I began swiping, with no intention of actually finding a man to date. Left, left, left, I swiped – until “Brady. 33, Male, 150km away” came up.
Hmm, too old, too far away. And a farmer? Absolutely not - I definitely didn’t want one of those.
But he was quite handsome. And Dad always said that I needed to give people a chance. So, I swiped right, and we matched straight away.
With both of us being farmers, we knew we needed to make a first date happen, otherwise the interest would fizzle out over the busy seeding season, with us working 700 kilometers apart. We made it through the first season and soon had a second, third, and fourth date.
The fourth date ended with both of us catching COVID, and spending a week in isolation together at Brady’s farm. That fourth date never really ended and I pretty much moved on that week. It was very early on that we both knew this was the end game.
What traits do you both appreciate most in each other?
I never imagined that it was possible to find someone who aligns so naturally with my interests, hobbies, goals, outlook on life - yet challenges me and helps me grow every single day. With Brady, I feel supported in everything I do. We’re always laughing and having fun, and despite the challenges thrown our way, facing them together makes the load feel so much lighter.
We've heard all about it in store but tell us again about your romantic proposal that Brady so thoughtfully planned!
The best thing about our proposal was how spontaneous and unexpected it was. While travelling through Japan on our first overseas holiday together, the “perfect” moment never seemed to happen. Until the last day, after I had just given Brady a snowboarding lesson, he surprised me by dropping to one knee and asking me to be his wife. So caught up in the moment, we were brought back to reality by the sounds of cheers and applause from the crowd of onlookers watching from the lift lines. To make it more special, our two best friends were there to capture it on camera, and celebrate with us over a Yakiniku dinner.
We love how much thought and effort Brady went into designing your gorgeous engagement ring. Tell us about your experience with The Classic Jewellers and any tips you have for couples searching for their engagement rings?
Our experience with The Classic Jewellers was absolutely fantastic. Going into the process, I thought I had a clear idea of what I wanted, but I was also open to exploring different styles. Once Jess helped me discover a style I loved, I left all the finer details and decisions up to Brady. He then worked with Jess to source the perfect stones, choose the setting and band, and refine each element. The two of them came up with the most stunning, high-quality ring that will be treasured as an heirloom for generations to come.
Our tip is to have an open mind and trust the experts! Try every shape, setting, and color you can - and take the time to select something that truly feels like you.
What are you both looking forward to in your new chapter together?
We’re just so excited to continue building a life together. There’s so much ahead for us, and we can’t wait to travel the world, finish planning the wedding of our dreams, and keep working towards our goals side by side as a married couple.
