For Dorsa and Matt, that spark struck during lockdown, when a simple online match became something extraordinary. What began as light-hearted chats and a shared love for rock climbing soon grew into trail runs, Sunday breakfasts, and a bond built on perfect balance as his calm meeting her beautiful chaos.
From the very first conversation, we could feel their connection which is so authentic, effortless, and full of warmth. It was a true pleasure for The Classic Jewellers to bring their vision to life and craft a forever ring that captures not just their love, but the story behind it.
Here’s a glimpse into their journey…
How did you both meet, what defining moments in your relationship made you realize that they were the one? I would love to hear both sides of the story!
Dorsa and Matt: We met during COVID through an online dating app, as everyone did in that period. We bonded over rock climbing, a hobby that has since been replaced with hiking, trail running and Sunday breakfasts with sourdough and jam.
Dorsa: I knew Matt was the one after the first date! I love his calm, relaxing nature and his humor.
Matt: I love Dorsa's chaos, lack of filter and how open to sharing she was.
What traits do you both appreciate most in each other?
Dorsa: I appreciate that Matt is optimistic and never complains. He is caring and always open to going on new adventures.
Matt: I appreciate Dorsa's caring nature, her sense of humor and that she will always be herself.
We've heard all about it in store but tell us again about your romantic proposal that Matt so thoughtfully planned!
Dorsa: Well… Matt did it his way. He waited for the moment I was completely relaxed, comfortable, content, and least expecting it. Hmm… I was in my Oodie, hair in a messy bun, coffee in hand… just being my usual self. Then he gave me a big hug, pulled out the ring, and said, ‘Happy two and a half years anniversary… Will you marry me?’
We love how much thought and effort Matt went into designing your gorgeous engagement ring. Tell us about your experience with The Classic Jewellers and any tips you have for couples searching for their engagement rings?
Matt: We actually designed the ring together. In the lead-up, we had a few casual chats and thought it would be really special for Dorsa to have input into the design just to make sure she truly loved it. The team at The Classic Jewellers were amazing throughout the whole process. They helped us understand the different design options, guided us with expert advice, and were more than happy to make any little adjustments along the way. Honestly, it was such a beautiful experience to share. For couples who aren’t planning a big surprise, I’d really recommend designing the ring together as it makes the whole journey even more meaningful.
What are you both looking forward to in your new chapter together?
Dorsa and Matt: We are looking forward to a happy long life together, starting a family and sharing the experiences that life brings together.
